Why Not!

So, my family is pretty big on spending holidays together. For some reason we haven't really done anything special for the 24th of July. We started thinks about what we could do and really just wasn't coming up with anything. Then Drena heard about a campground in Montpiller Idaho that you could rent teepees to sleep in. So we said why not! We had so much fun! It was just the sisters, no husbands which was probably a good thing. I don't think we could have fit anyone else nor do I think the men would think the close quarters of this activity would be so much fun.

This is the Teepee we stayed in. It was really quiet cool and the kids loved it. While I love being close to my sisters, nieces and nephews I decided that I would sleep in the suburban where I could breath. Of course my Lola had to join me. We are camping buddies.

David was so out numbered with all of us girls. It was fun to watch Haden and David bond. Haden looks up to David and would do whatever David did. He would just giggle and giggle at whatever David would say or do.

The campground had a small swim pool and so we spent the first day swimming

Cannon ball!

Karen and Drena spent most of their time watching the little ones swim

Here we all are! Snug as a bug! Gotta love them!

The view from the suburban!

The next morning we all went into town for breakfast. This place had the biggest portions I have ever seen! David said he was in hevan when he saw his pancakes!

After breakfast we went to the Oregan trail museum. It didn't sound like so much fun but the kids loved it! The lady at the museum was so good and letting them touch and explore some of the really cool things they had.
We had such a fun weekend. We missed Sharla and her crew and mom and dad. We all need to go back the next time together! Maybe this time with the camper and another teepee!

Yellowstone

I haven't been doing great with the blog thing! Life has been so much fun lately! I has such an amazing time in Yellowstone this past week. We stopped in Macks Inn for the first night. We floated down the river there and it was...okay. The water got pretty shallow and it was freezing. In a couple places it was only a couple inches deep. So we had to get out and walk for awhile. After the river and dinner we went to the play they put on there. It was so dumb that is was hilarious! I was laughing so hard.

Who doesn't love Old Faithful!

We headed into the park the next day. The first thing we saw was a beautiful bald eagle and of course like crazy tourist we took pictures like crazy.

We went on a super fun boat ride on Yellowstone Lake. It was really rough water and I thought oh no I hope we don't get sick, but everyone did great. I learned so much from the tour guide and it was really interesting to hear so many facts about the park that I had no idea!

This is a view of Yellowstone Lake. It was so pretty!

Poor Regan was sick the whole trip! She was pretty much stuck to my side. Karen took her to the Dr. before we left and he said she would be fine, but she just got worse. So, Karen took her back in when we got home and found out my poor little Lola has spots on her lungs and she is really sick.

At the beginning of the trip I said I really wanted to see a bear. I told Cass that I wanted it to just be us and we could watch it without being swarmed by tourist. The next night we were heading back from dinner and out of the corner of my eye I saw a bear. Of course I screamed "That was a bear!" Ron slammed on the brakes and flipped the suburban around and we went back. It was so cool! It was a small grizzly bear just chilln' on a log. We watch for several minutes and I was so in to the bear that I didn't even notice that tons of cars had stopped too. Ron yelled for me to get back in the car and I was like why!? Cars had stopped in the road and people were everywhere. If we didn't get out of there we would have been stuck in a major traffic jam!

I was so into watching the bear that I didn't get one picture. But here is the crazy tourist who stopped to watch.

We saw so many cool places. The buffalo were super cool. We got stuck in between a couple really big buffalo. We tried to use common sense and waited for the buffalo to cross our path, but some of those tourist were nuts and were snapping pictures right in the buffalo's path. Ron had the camera ready just in case we could sell the video to Americas Funniest Videos!

My little cute buffalo and one big not so cute buffalo!

The best part of the trip was the kids. They really got into finding the animals and listed and I read random Yellowstone facts from a book I bought. I was buying up any buffalo stuff I could find to decorate my classroom with for next year. I bought this buffalo hat that Haden just loved. It came with a little tail that you attach to your belt loop. He wore that silly hat everywhere. People would see him and just laugh like crazy. He figured out that he could make the tail move by doing this crazy dance and he just wouldn't stop. I died when he said to me "you know nobody is even going to be able to tell I'm a person." He would roll down the window and make buffalo noises at the buffalo we would pass. He just cracked me up!

Here is the bootie shot!

Oh yea he would carry the sign as well!
Thanks crew for inviting me on a way fun family vacation!
